Grupo Codorníu is launching a new wine brand in the UK.

The Spanish Quarter wines – classified Viñedos de España – mix traditional Spanish grapes with international varietals that are more familiar to UK consumers. The two blends on general release are Chardonnay-Albariño and Cabernet Sauvignon-Tempranillo. All grapes are sourced from the group’s own vineyards.

Head Winemaker, Olivia Salas, is responsible for creating The Spanish Quarter’s signature blends. A Catalan-native, Salas brings experience to her position from working in wineries in Spain, France, Chile and New Zealand.

UK brand manager Carolyn D’Aguilar said: “The UK is one of the biggest importers of Spanish wine and the Spanish category is growing in value*. According to latest Nielsen statistics*, sales of Spanish wines priced £5+ have increased 20.6% over the past year. The Spanish Quarter with its RRP of £7.99 is set to take advantage of this growth.”
