Foster’s has entered into an agreement with AB Nigab to manage the sale and distribution of Foster’s wine portfolio for duty free and travel retail in the Nordic countries.

Foster’s delivers approximately one million litres of wine within the duty-free and travel retail sector. Brands include Penfolds, Lindeman and Beringer.

Privately owned AB Nigab is a major supplier in the Scandinavian duty-free market and Foster’s has appointed Jani Mälkki as business manager.

Jonas Hillergren, general manager of Foster’s Nordics said: “This situation gives us the prerequisite to increase market shares within duty–free / travel retail.”

In November Foster’s announced that they would manage their own wine brands in the Nordic countries.

Consequently, Foster’s is ending the cooperation with V&S Wine, which was acquired by Pernod Ricard earlier this year.

Foster’s says it plans to become the third largest distributor of wine in the Swedish market, through expanded presence.
