A private dinner was held recently to celebrate the new home of what is believed to be the largest whisky collection in the world, 3,384 bottles.
The collection was bought by Diageo, the world’s largest scotch whisky producer, from Brazilian whisky enthusiast, Claive Vidiz who had built it up over 35 years.
The Scotch Whisky Experience, formerly known as The Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre, hosted the dinner which comprised a group of businessmen from the world of luxury in the vault especially designed to house the collection.
The dinner was arranged by Ken Grier, director of malts at the Edrington Group, the Experience’s second largest shareholder. Guests included representatives from Faberge, Debrett's, Bentley, Jet Republic, David Cox, director of brand education for The Macallan brand and Grier.
Diageo purchased the whisky collection in 2006 and brought it back to. It can be viewed by the public as part of the Scotch Whisky Experience tour.
