The Winegrowers for sustainable Development (Vignerons en Développement Durable or V-DD) is a collective trademark that guarantees winery business development goes hand-in-hand with a degree of responsibility for the environment and any social or community impact.
Any cooperative using the V-DD logo is required to ensure that a minimum of 50% of their production comes from vineyards that are worked according to the principles of sustainable agriculture. Mont Tauch currently works 90% of its vineyards according to the principles of sustainable agriculture, and complies with IFS (International Food Standard) and BRC (British Retail Consortium) standards.
Antoine Leray, Mont Tauch UK sales director said: “As the UK consumer and retailers become increasingly savvy and concerned about the environment, the V-DD logo is an important tool to inform our customers of our commitment to both the environment, and social and community issues.”
