LIWF/Distil attendances down by 1%

25 May, 2010

The organisers of the London International Wine Fair (LIWF) and Distil has announced that 13,693 people visited the three-day exhibition which closed last week. That is 1% down on 2009

Brintex says it is delighted with the results. Overseas visitors were clocked at 3,170 (23%) which is 1% up on last year.

Event director James Murray said: “The LIWF’s (30th) anniversary year has seen extremely positive feedback from across the board, and it has been so pleasing to see the wine trade getting back on its feet after a difficult eighteen months.

“It’s extraordinary to have welcomed more international visitors this year, despite the travel problems that many experienced, and our UK audience has remained very solid in the face of a shrinking market and declining numbers of retailers,” he said.

“Throughout the three days, exhibitors have reported an impressive attendance from key individuals from the UK and overseas, and the level of business being done was very high indeed,” said Murray
