Bacardi launches special edition Bénédictine

10 June, 2010

Travel retail: Bacardi has launched a limited edition bottling of Bénédictine liqueur.

The black old-style bottle is a celebration of the 500-year-old secret Bénédictine recipe. The product went on sale at Singapore Changi airport this month and it was launched in cooperation with duty free retailer DFS, which is celebrating its 50th year at Changi.

The new bottle is on sale for $50 SGD in all three airport terminals through July. Consumers who purchase the limited edition bottle will receive a 5cl Bénédictine D.O.M bottle and a commemorative bag will be offered as a gift to those who purchase two of the limited edition bottles.

In each main DFS departure shop per terminal, the Bénédictine D.O.M Mix-it-Up Bar and Sensory Experience stations allow customers to learn about the legacy of Bénédictine and its 27 herbs and spices. New cocktails include Big Ben, Be Pamplemousse, and Milk and Honey and they are available to sample.

Aude Rocourt, director of Asia Pacific Bacardi Global Travel Retail: “We are happy to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Bénédictine recipe and the 50th Anniversary of DFS in Singapore Changi Airport with multiple consumer-focused retail promotions. By working closely with DFS, we established a programme that will drive footfall and expose more consumers to the unique attributes of Bénédictine.”
