Guala Closures buys Bulgarian company Danik

31 December, 2010

Guala Closures Group, which claims to be the world’s largest producer of non-refillable closures for the international spirits market, has bought Bulgarian company, Danik.

Danik, with a turnover of €16 million and 200 employees, produces non-refillable inserts, closures and injection moulds.

This acquisition follows the purchase in 2009 of Technologia Closures, one of the leading producers in Eastern Europe of polymer and aluminium closures and decorations. Now called Guala Closures Ukraine, it is located in Sumy close to the Russian border.
Guala Closures Group chief executive, Marco Giovannini said: “Following our acquisition of Technologia in Ukraine last year, the strategic acquisition of Danik will allow us to further strengthen our ability to supply in the most efficient way our Eastern European customers in countries such as Russia and Armenia, as well as the growing spirits market in Mongolia.”
