Glenglassaugh releases ‘Manager’s Legacy’ range

26 October, 2010

Whisky brand Glenglassaugh has announced the release of a limited edition range of single malt scotches named ‘Manager’s Legacy’.

The range tracks the evolution of Glenglassaugh’s whisky over 24 years from 1962-1986, a period overseen by four distillery managers.

Stuart Nickerson, managing director of Glenglassaugh, said: “The Manager’s Legacy range is the first range of whiskies that recognises the contribution of the managers.

“Each of the four casks selected was carefully chosen from all of the casks available from each managers time in charge, and as with our other single cask bottling, all are non-chill filtered, hand-bottled on site at cask strength, without the addition of colouring.”

The Jim Cryle expression, which represents Glenglassaugh whisky from 1972-74, numbers 200 bottles and is available to buy for £250.

November will see the release of a whisky dating to Dod Cameron’s 1974-1986 tenure, with 500 bottles available and with an RRP of £130 each.

The remaining two expressions will be launched in 2011. The Bert Forsyth expression (1967-1972) numbers 300 bottles and is priced at £350, while the Water Grant edition (1962-67) has been limited to 200 bottles, at a cost of £450.

The releases follow The Scaent Group’s acquisition of the brand in 2008, a move that brought an end to a 22-year period of inactivity at the distillery.
