Brown-Forman launches new Canadian whisky in US

14 February, 2011

Brown-Forman has launched Canadian 'maple wood' whisky, Collingwood, in four US states.

The “toasted, maple wood-mellowed Canadian whisky” has been made available in Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana and Texas, ahead of a further roll-out later this year.

According to Brown-Forman, the whisky is “triple distilled for smoothness and matured in white oak barrels”, before being finished “with toasted maple wood to complete its smooth character”.

Chris Morris, Brown-Forman’s master distiller said: “We set out to create nothing short of the smoothest Canadian whisky ever made.”

Collingwood - which is 40% ABV, priced at $26.99 and available in 750ml bottles – is packaged in a flask shaped bottle.

Webb Blevins, global creative director at Brown-Forman said: "We wanted the package to really show off the liquid inside. We tried to immediately communicate premium.”
