According to Badet Clement, the Côt, Alicante, Carignan, Macabeu and Rolle varietals may also soon be joined by a sixth, Lladoner Pelut, a red from the Roussillon.
The wines are available in Europe, with a price of £8.99 (€8-8.99), with a future roll out to the US expected.
The target consumers for the range are “wine lovers interested in rediscovering forgotten flavours”.
Laurent Delaunay, president of Badet Clement, said: “We have brought these varieties back for wine lovers to discover, because being variety specialists we not only want to preserve this valuable heritage and prevent these varieties from disappearing altogether, but we also believe that rediscovering genuine tastes and forgotten flavours is part of wine culture and the southern French way of life.”
