Bacardi trials Bombay Sapphire East

Bacardi USA has announced plans to trial a new gin, Bombay Sapphire East, in the US on and off-trade.

The line extension, which will be available from September, takes on an Asian theme, with the addition of two botanicals, Vietnamese black peppercorns and Thai lemongrass.

A retail price of US$22.99 per 75cl bottle has been suggested for the 47% abv gin.

The initial launch to New York and Las Vegas has been described as a “small scale market test” with a roll out dependent on the new edtion's popularity.

The brand said: “Bombay Sapphire East is an exciting innovation from the Bombay gin brand, which includes two additional botanicals to create a bold new flavour."
