DIVA to distribute SA wines

13 October, 2011

French distributor DIVA (Distribution Internationale de Vins et Alcools) has created DIVA South Africa to market some of the country’s ‘premium’ wines to an international audience.

The Bordeaux-headquartered DIVA has “carefully selected” wine portfolios from 14 “top” South African wine producers.

Marketed via website diva-southafrica.co.za, wines will be available to sixty export markets across five continents through DIVA’s international distribution network.

The operation will be based in the  Franschhoek winelands of the Western Cape, and will be managed by wine professional Sharon Patterson, wine merchant Peter Clarke and Antonin Michel, general manager of the DIVA network.

A statement from DIVA read: “South Africa has attained worldwide recognition as a producer of premium and distinctive wines, created in the most spectacular and bio diverse winelands, and is ranked 7th largest wine producing country worldwide.

“A reputation for representing undisputed quality wine producers from seven varied countries cements DIVA as a renowned global wine merchant through markets spanning five continents.”
