CEDC takes Barefoot to Poland

21 March, 2012

Central European Distribution Corporation (CEDC) has extended its links with Gallo Vineyards to include the distribution of Barefoot wines in Poland.

A new three-year deal with Gallo will see CEDC continue to distribute Carlo Rossi, a brand launched by the group and claimed to be the leader in the market.

William Carey, president and CEO of CEDC, said: “Our ongoing cooperation with Gallo Vineyards has resulted in the creation of the strongest, most recognised wine brand in the Polish market, which impacted the shape and direction of development of the whole wine market in Poland.

“The overall selection of Gallo Vineyards wines, which are an excellent fit in our diversified portfolio of premium alcoholic beverages, establishes a powerful foundation for expansion in the steadily developing wine market of Poland.”

According to CEDC, it is the leader of Poland’s table wine market with over 13% market share in terms of value (Nielsen, 12 months ended January 2012).
