Black Grouse goes Alpha

18 April, 2012

The Edrington Group has unveiled a new version of The Black Grouse, the rich, spicy, sweet and smoky version of its mainstream Famous Grouse blended scotch whisky brand.

The Black Grouse – Alpha Edition is described as even richer, smokier than the Black Grouse. Edrington says it has been created by blending a greater concentration of aged, peaty malt whiskies to achieve a fuller, richer whisky.

Alpha was previewed at the Tax Free world Association (TFWA) World Exhibition show in Cannes last September.

It is available exclusively from The Famous Grouse Experience in Crieff and online through thefamousgrouse.com/online-shop priced at £35. Internationally, it is available priced at an RSP (recommended selling price of €33 from select global travel retail outlets.

The bottle is adorned by an iridescent black feather, showing a male black grouse in full display during the mating season.
