Craft pisco anchors in US

31 August, 2012

US: San Francisco-based Anchor Distilling Company is to import and distribute BarSol's range of Peruvian piscos.

Diego Loret de Mola, BarSol's founder, is looking to double its US distribution in the next three years. He said: "Over the last 10 years we have been looking for the right partner, who clearly understands not only the challenges of building a brand from the ground up utilising a grassroots approach, but is also sensitive about the needs of a supplier with regards to environmental responsibility, production plans, costs and cash flow."

Anchor Distilling’s president David King, added: “Anchor Distilling is committed to sourcing the finest examples of artisanal spirits from around the world and we are delighted to be working with the BarSol range of piscos. The product quality and presentation of the brand has, in my opinion, raised the bar for the whole category.”

The range includes Primero Quebranta, produced from the first pressing of 100% Quebranta grapes from the Ica Valley. (40%abv, SRP $24.99), Selecto Italia made form Italia grapes (40%abv, SRP $34.99),  Selecto Acholado made from a blend of piscos distilled from three grape varieties: Quebranta, Italia and Torontel (40%abv, SRP$29.99) and Supremo Mosto Verde Italia, distilled from the partial fermentation of the "best selection of Italia grapes from the Valley of Ica" (41.5%abv, SRP $39.99).
