The conference takes place on November 26/27 at the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel in Dubai. It is aimed at duty free and retail industry executives.
The organisers say the conference focus will be the role of the Middle East in the global economy and especially as a hub for the aviation sector.
The keynote speaker is Dr Ghanem Al Hajri, Sharjah Airport Authority’s director general who will highlight key growth factors and give his ideas on how airports in the UAE can cope with future economic fluctuations.
Dr Costas Verginis, Deloitte & Touche’s director, consulting real estate & hospitality, will give his take on the Middle East particularly with regards recent political turmoil and the impact of travel to and through the region by people from emerging economies such as China and India.
On the second day, Jazeera Airways’ CEO, Stephan Pichler, will take about ‘Building the brand in the Middle East’ and give his thoughts on the airline sector in the region.
The final session is titled: ‘East meets West’: which will be spotlighting China, India and the Chinese and Indian travellers in the Middle East. The two leading BRIC countries account for millions of passengers through the Middle East.
