Sichel welcomes 7th generation

04 October, 2012

Maison Sichel, the Bordeaux-based producer and negociant, has announced the appointment of the 23-year-old son of Sichel’s current president and managing director to the business

Alexander Sichel is the 7thgeneration to join the family-owned company.

Sichel was born in the UK but educated in Bordeaux. He studied for a dual honours degree in International Business and Management at Oxford Brookes College.

He has worked at Sichel’s Bel Air winery in Bordeaux and spent eight months at the Mosswood estate in Margaret River, Australia. At Maison Sichel he will be in sales and a brand ambassador.

President and managing director, Allan Sichel said: “My four brothers and I are very pleased to see the next generation coming into the company. Alexander is one of 14 cousins so we hope to see a few more of the 7th generation joining us. Young people are the life blood of business: they bring new ways of seeing things, they question the status quo and sometimes make life uncomfortable but that’s good.”
