Oliver Ebert wins Mixologist of the Year

Mixology magazine celebrated excellence in the German bar trade last night at its annual ceremony, the Mixology Bar Awards.

Three hundred and seventy of the German and international bar industry were present at the Ritz-Carlton hotel where the ceremony took place.

The coveted Mixologist of the year award went to Oliver Ebert of Becketts Kopf in Berlin and the Best Bar gong went to Die Goldene Bar, in Munich.

The full lists of awards presented were as follows:

Bar Team of the year: Amano Bar, Berlin.

Newcomer of the year: Harry Glockler, Becketts Kopf, Berlin.

Mixologist of the year: Oliver Ebert, Becketts Kopf, Berlin

Host of the year: Arnd Heiẞen, Ritz-Carlton, Berlin

City award: Frankfurt

Special mentions: Albertina Passage, Vienna, Austria and Cranberry Bar, Zurich, Switzerland.

Best bar: Die Goldene Bar, Munich.

Best hotel bar: Amano Bar, Berlin

Lifetime achievement award: Maria Dolores Boadas

Spirit of the year: Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao

Bartender’s choice: Chartreuse Verte

Bar menu of the year: Schoellmann bar, Effenberg
