Tabasco British Bloody Mary Challenge picks winners

Gareth Evans, bar manager at Pollen Street Social and Marco Piroli of LAB Bar were victors at this year's Tabasco British Bloody Mary Challenge.

The contest attracted 10 UK bartenders and was held at Bar Amércain, in Zedel Brasserie, London.

Evans won Best Classic Bloody Mary, with Lee Hyde of Bar Americain in second. 

While in the Best Alternative Bloody category Piroli came first and Ali Reynolds of Hawksmoor was runner up.

The two winners won a three-day trip to New Orleans for Tales of The Cocktail 2013.

Judging the event was food critic Charles Campion, restaurateur Russell Norman, journalist Kate Spicer and Tristan O’Hana of Pub & Bar magazine
