The once–in-a-lifetime promotion offering Le Clos customers the chance to win some of the biggest names in Bordeaux was won by a regular Le Clos customer from China. The anonymous winner will celebrate his win by visiting the store in person to collect his prize.
The ‘Big Eight’ constitutes what many critics consider to be the finest wines from Bordeaux, featuring the almost mythical names of Latour, Lafite, Margaux, Haut Brion, Mouton Rothschild, Petrus, Cheval Blanc and Ausone. Drawn from a variety of vintages, the prize is worth more than AED50,000 (US$13,888). Le Clos ran the promotion in October 2012 to mark the fourth anniversary of the first Le Clos store at Dubai International.
Le Clos head Ben Odgers, said: “The Big 8 is an amazing addition to any collection and the winner, who wished to remain anonymous, is a regular Le Clos patron based in China, highlighting the breadth and importance of our international client base. Le Clos’ global reach is fundamental to our success in building a position as the leader in fine wines and luxury spirits and our commitment to customers is illustrated by the luxurious events we will host once again in China, with three lavish dinners in three cities in three nights, in December, maintaining close relationships with our very loyal customers there. We are also delighted that our Big 8 winner will once again visit the store in person, to collect his fabulous prize.”
Le Clos claims its concept has become synonymous within the travel retail and wine & spirits industries as a ‘game changing’ concept. The success has primarily been driven by repeat custom from both domestic and overseas customers, all of whom have recognised the commitment shown by the business to offer value at all strata, combined with unequalled provenance in the field borne out of its direct relationship with suppliers, says the company.
Le Clos will launch its next outlet – with twice the floor area of the original store - at Dubai International Terminal 3, Concourse A, which is scheduled to open in January 2013
