Accolade to re-launch Geyser Peak in Europe

28 March, 2013

Accolade Wines has announced the summer re-launch of Californian wine brand Geyser Peak to the UK and mainland Europe.

The range will be released in three phases with a Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc arriving this summer, a Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon launching in January 2014 and a Zinfandel following 6-12 months later.

Geyser Peak, which was bought by the group in June 2012, is also available in the US and will launch eventually in Asia but will be made to different flavour profiles in all three regions.

In the UK the wines are targeted at the £6.99-£8.99 segment and aimed at “consumers that enjoy wine on a daily or weekly basis”. The wines have an abv of 13%.

The target for the first year of sales in the UK is 40-50,000 bottles, according to Accolade’s Paul Schaafsma

Geyser Peak was last seen in Europe six to seven years ago, though under different ownership.
