Glenfiddich’s Malt Mastermind heads for Scotland

20 September, 2013

Glenfiddich’s Malt Mastermind competition is moving to Scotland – to Dufftown the home of the world’s number one single malt scotch whisky

Now in its fourth year, the six finalists who show their creativity and knowledge of the category, will be making their signature Glenfiddich serves at the Glenfiddich distillery.

The winner will win the chance to go back to the distillery for a VIP, all-expenses paid trip where they will be hosted by the Glenfiddich brand ambassador; get the chance to taste a range of rare expressions and be given access to parts of the distillery not open to the general public. The winner will also receive £1,000, a stay in luxury Scottish accommodation and the chance to be on the judging panel for the 2014 competition.

Entrants must complete a questionnaire, which can be found at www.glenfiddich.com/maltmastermind. Finalists will then go to the distillery on October 28, 2013, where they will be asked to create two serves – a twist on the classic whisky cocktail, Rob Roy, plus their own creation using Glenfiddich 12 Year Old, 15 Year Old or 18 Year Old to the judges. The judges will include Glenfiddich global brand ambassador, Ian Millar, whisky expert, Mark Thomson, and last year’s competition winner, Lee Potter Cavanagh.
The deadline for entries is October 11, 2013.
