Vickie Sheriff is Diageo's new global comms chief

Diageo has announced the appointment of Vickie Sheriff as global communications director. Sheriff will report to Charlotte Lambkin, global corporate relations director, and be responsible for external communications and employee engagement. She starts on September 1.

Vickie Sheriff is currently the UK Government's director of group communications at the Department for Transport. Her former roles include the UK Prime Minister’s deputy official spokesman and head of news for both the Ministry of Justice and the Department for International Development. She has also worked in HM Treasury and the former Department for Trade and Industry in communications roles.

Lambkin said: “I am really pleased that Vickie has chosen to join our team at Diageo. She has great experience in running and developing large teams covering a wide range of disciplines, managing complex and fast moving issues and positioning senior individuals and organisations. She will be able to join together our employee engagement and external communications teams to deliver against an exciting agenda. Diageo is ambitious and we want to become one of the best performing, most trusted and respected consumer goods company in the world."
