In its third year, the competition is open to all bartenders in the UK and throughout Europe, as well the US and Canada.
In a preview of the ‘switch’ competition, last year’s winner Aidan Bowie and North American Chris Dennis made their take on an Auchentoshan cocktail-The English Breakfast Tea and The Star Spangled Maple Leaf. Bowie’s Breakfast Tea took the top prize.
Rhona Fyfe, brand manager for Auchentoshan said: “Auchentoshan Switch has grown from strength to strength over the past three years and we are delighted with the huge number of entries it receives each year, as well as the fabulously inventive cocktail that are made too.”
The regional heats will take place from August ahead of the grand final on October 30. The North American location has yet to be announced.
