Famous Grouse announces Commonwealth Games whisky

18 July, 2014

The Famous Grouse has announced it will release a Limited Edition Commonwealth Games Whisky for Glasgow 2014.

Glenturret 1986 Cask Strength single malt will be bottled at 46.4% abv with an RRP of £150.

Master blender Gordon Motion chose the whisky aged in oak casks from 1986 to mark the last year Scotland hosted the Commonwealth Games.

Motion said: “When deliberating what to release it became apparent that Glenturret 1986 was the ideal choice and very timely.

“This exceptional whisky gives off notes of fresh mango and passion fruit to nose with sweet honeycomb and melon to taste.

“So why not, pour a dram, raise a toast to Glasgow 2014 and be part of something famous.”

1,800 bottles will be available later this year.
