De Kuyper teams with WFA Grand Slam

04 December, 2014

De Kuyper has teamed up with leading annual flair bartending competition WFA Grand Slam 2014.

The world championship series has comprised eight international competitions, with the top 30 competitors qualifying to the Grand Slam World Final at Clapham Grand, London on December 7. The 2014 WFA World Champion wins £2,400.

The WFA final will see each bartender create a De Kuyper Pornstar Martini in just four minutes, with three judges awarding points on variety, creativity, difficulty, smoothness, showmanship and choreography, and another two will be making a deduction score card for spills, drops, breaks and incorrect procedures.

The top six will then go onto round two, where they will have seven minutes to make a De Kuyper Pornstar Martini, plus their own cocktail creation using De Kuyper products, as JJ Goodman, Douglas Ankrah (creator of the Pornstar Martini) and Peter Dorelli join the panel of judges.

De Kuyper, still a family-run business currently run by the 11th generation, claims to be the world’s largest producer of cocktail liqueurs. As sponsor of this year’s WFA Grand Slam final, it says it has a strong historical connection to flair competitions around the world. One-in-every-six-liqueur-bottles sold around the world is De Kuyper, it says.
