Kilbeggan 8YO Single Grain Irish Whiskey to launch

03 February, 2015

Beam Suntory has joined the single grain whisky category with the launch of Kilbeggan 8YO Single Grain Irish Whiskey.

Launching across European travel retail through Maxxium this month the new Irish whiskey is made from 100% corn, making it a  “versatile, soft and subtly sweet expression,” Beam Suntory said.

The grain whiskey is distilled in column stills and matured for eight years in ex-bourbon barrels. It has an ABV of 40%.

The group added that Kilbeggan 8Y0 Single Grain Irish Whiskey would appeal to aficionados of single malts, aged blends and bourbon.

Michael Cockram, Beam Suntory global travel retail marketing director, said: “Kilbeggan 8YO Single Grain is a valuable and unique addition to the range and follows the successful release of Kilbeggan 21YO.

“Given the strong and continued growth in Irish whiskey, the launch allows retailers to broaden their offering within the category and capitalise on the demand amongst travelers, giving them the opportunity to experience a premium expression within this acclaimed portfolio.”
