Management changes at Yalumba

04 February, 2015

The Australian wine producer Yalumba, which claims to be Australia’s oldest family owned winery established in 1849, has announced senior management changes.

Board chairman Peter Barnes is retiring after 12 years in that role. Robert Hill-Smith will become chairman and step down as CEO. This comes after 30 years. When appointed in 1985, he was one of the youngest appointments to that role for a major winemaker.

Nick Waterman is the new CEO and becomes a director of the company. Since joining Negociants Australia as general manager in 2002 from a career in software marketing and sales, he moved in 2009 to a role of executive director of strategy and trading, and since mid-20014 has been chief operating officer.
