Located on the 64th floor of Tower Club at Lebua with views over Bangkok and live jazz, Flute A Perrier-Jouët Bar welcomed guests last week to its launch party.
The bar offers a world-exclusive on Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs 2004, Cuvee Belle Epoque Rosé, plus GH Mumm Cuvée R Lalou, GH Mumm Grand Cru Brut Selection, Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé, GH Mumm Blanc de Blancs, Mumm de Cramant Blancs de Blancs, all of which are available in Thailand exclusively at Lebua.
With glasses of the vintage champagne selling for $250 per glass, hotel CEO Deepak Ohri said the hotel bar attracts visitors looking for exclusive experiences.
Speaking to Drinks International at the launch of the bar, Ohri said the champagne bar was his idea and that Pernod Ricard was chosen to provide the exclusive products. He said Pernod Ricard has been “very flexible about exclusivity”.
Patrick Castanier, managing director of Pernod Ricard Thailand told Drinks International: “As lebua’s preferred partner, and working closely with the Perrier-Jouët brand, we are delighted to introduce a new luxury experience for guests.”
“This new experience takes our guests on a journey, starting with a romantic and elegant Enchanted Tree at the entrance, a piece of contemporary art designed by the world renowned designer Tord Boontje. Guests can then enjoy a “special cuvee” degustation at the Flute A Perrier-Jouët Bar with an awesome panoramic view!”
“At the Dome at lebua, we are always looking to take luxury experiences to the next level. We are proud to do so with the highest Perrier-Jouët al-fresco bar in the world!”
Ohri added that exclusive single malt scotch whiskies would follow at the hotel’s other bars – which include Sky Bar and Distil - and that his hotel would become known for such offerings.
With imported alcoholic drinks tax levees reaching up to 500%, prices for luxury and exclusive products carry inflated prices in the market.
Ohri said no other Bangkok hotels have taken an exclusive approach to drinks, which took “courage” in what is a developing market.
