WIRSPA guide to true rum

The West Indies Rum & Spirits Producers’ Association (WIRSPA) has produced a guide for trade press and professionals, titled The Explorers Guide to True Rum.

The perfect bound pocket guide is an overview of all the brands that are part of the Authentic Caribbean Rum marque (ACR). The marquee was developed as a symbol of authenticity, provenance and quality within the WIRSPA group. It is being used to promote the development of authentic Caribbean rum.

WIRSPA represents 15 independent countries that produce authentic Caribbean rums. They are: Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago.

Currently licensed companies are: Angostura, Antigua Distillery, Ron Barceló, Brugal, Demerara Distillers, Grenada Distillers, Hampden Estate, J Wray and Nephew, Mount Gay Distilleries, National Rums of Jamaica, RL Seale, Rhum Barbancourt, St. Lucia Distillers, St. Nicholas Abbey, St. Vincent Distillery, Suriname Alcoholic Beverages, Travellers Liquors, Westerhall Estate, West Indies Rum Distillery.
