Jinro dominates Millionaires' Club list again

25 May, 2016

Soju brand Jinro has been named the top-selling spirit in the world in the Millionaires’ Club 2016, after selling 73.8m 9-litre last year.

The Korean spirit piled on 4% of growth during the year and remains a long way clear of second-placed Officer’s Choice.

The Indian brand has cemented its position as the top-selling whisky and jumped two places in the overall list, with 15% growth taking it to 34.7m cases.

Lotte Liquor’s soju Chum Churum, which is also up a place to third, finished 2015 with 16% growth and 31.7m cases, while Emperador dropped 8%, finishing the year on 30.5m cases.

The only global brand in the top five of spirits is Smirnoff, which sold 25.7m cases.

The Millionaires’ Club 2016 report will be published in June as a supplement to Drinks International magazine.
