UK is BCB’s country of honour

16 August, 2016

Bar Convent Berlin organisers have announced that the UK will be this year’s ‘country of honour’.

Reed Exhibitions says Hall 3 at the Station Berlin venue will be the focus for fans of the British alcohol and beverage scene. The centrepiece of this year’s country partnership will be a group stand in area D01 featuring eight British exhibitors, including Funkin Cocktail, Mitchell & Cooper Ltd. and Mason Yorkshire.

Another UK highlight, located right near the show entrance will be a Pimm’s branded red London double decker bus.

At the Taste Forum, David T. Smith from the Gin Guild UK and spirits expert Dave Broom will talk about topics such as ‘The New Breed of British Gins’ and ‘The Best of Non Age Statement Scotch Whiskies’. Two big names of the London bar scene will appear on the Main Stage: ‘The Curious Bartender’ Tristan Stephenson and Merchant House’s Lewis Hayes. Titled ‘Behind the Bar at Black Rock’ and ‘From the Bottom Up: Planting Seeds’, their presentations have already been confirmed on the BCB supporting programme schedule.

The ‘British Breweries Talk’ on the Beer Stage, a panel discussion with Fuller's John Keeling, BrewDog’s Kerry, Andrew Smith from Partizan Brewing and Samuel Smith’s Sam Smith complete the lecture programme.

On the Coffee Stage in Hall 7, the Coffee in Cocktails sessions will feature Martin Hudak, the senior bartender at the Savoy in London.

Bar Convent Berlin takes place between October 11 and 12. The organisers expect 10,000 trade visitors.
