Rothschild celebrates America's Cup partnership

06 June, 2017

Philippe Sereys de Rothschild met with Sir Russell Coutts, CEO of the America’s Cup at the Mouton Cadet Wine Cellar to celebrate the wine’s partnership with the famous yacht race.

Sereys is a chairman at Château Mouton Rothschild and Sir Coutts is also five-time winner of the oldest yacht race in he world, and the pair met to celebrate the new relations between the Bordeaux brand and the 35th America’s Cup.

Sereys said: “I am delighted that Mouton Cadet, the worldwide Bordeaux brand, has entered this new partnership with the America’s Cup, the oldest and most prestigious sailing event in the world.

“This partnership makes perfect sense: we are both international brands with a strong history, ours dating back to 1853, when my family took its first big step into the world of wine, just two years after the America’s Cup was founded.”

The Mouton Cadet Wine Cellar is located in the America’s Cup village at the finish line of the race, and the America’s Cup Special Cuvée will serve as the official wine of the month-long competition between May 27-June 27.

The glass-etched design on the bottle has been signed by Sir Coutts, who said: “I am thrilled to welcome Mouton Cadet aboard as official wine of the 35th America’s Cup and also pleased to have been part of the design of the Special Cuvée bottle.”

The America’s Cup Cuvée is available in select markets globally and in the UK at Harrod’s at £19.95.
