The Draft House opens new London pub

10 August, 2017

UK-based pub chain The Draft House has opened its first new pub since acquiring Grand Union’s six locations in June.

The Tankard in Kennington, London is the latest Draft House to open in the capital and is the former drinking spot of comedy legend Charlie Chaplin.

Charlie McVeigh, founder and CEO of Draft House, said: “The Tankard is an amazing pub shot through with the extraordinary history and culture of Kennington, which we’ve loved bringing to life.

“The joy of this pub is its magnificent roof terrace. This has to be one of the spots to be in the summer – ideal for a quiet mid-week pint of pale, or to celebrate an important birthday at the weekend.”

The Draft House is known for its wide selection of draft beers and The Tankard allows guests to buy their own tankard to keep on display behind the bar.

The Draft House has also got on board with the latest trend in beer-food pairing and offers a selection of cheeses to match with its beers.
