The producers, based in the Bas Armagnac region in southern France are expecting a strong harvest despite early season frosts.
“Our crop manager, Eric Darroussat, is ever mindful to achieve optimal yield and maintain irreproachable quality,” said commercial director Jérôme Castledine.
“He is expecting a good harvest, which is a relief for us after the frosts that threatened bud growth earlier this year in April.”
The French spirits producer has its Château de Bordeneuve, La Collection Privée and Saveurs Inédites ranges as well as its more premium series, Baron de Sigognac.
Drinks International visited the producers earlier this year to find out its latest innovations and the trends developing within the Armagnac category.
During the trip, Castledine showed off their picturesque vineyards and chateau, whilst discussing their pride for tradition.
He said: “Armagnac is one of the oldest spirits in the world. It hasn’t changed much since it was first distilled in 1310. We’re proud of our tradition and feel like it has to be at the focus, at the heart of the spirit.”
