17,000 bottles of Warninks Advocaat stolen in UK

On November 11, a shipping container holding 17,472 bottles of Warninks Advocaat was stolen from a haulers yard in Newcastle, UK.

The total value of the robbery surpasses £250,000 (US$335,000) and the thieves are yet to be caught, however De Kuyper Royal Distillers said nobody has been hurt in the crime.

A representative of the brand said that the hauliers truck was badly damaged and the trailer was stolen along with the loaded box, the hauliers yard was locked and secured at the time.

The liqueuer, which won a gold medal in Drinks International’s International Spirits Challenge, is popular in the Christmas season across Europe within the Snowball cocktail.

A spokesperson for Warninks, said: “It’s a shame a container of Warninks has been taken from Newcastle, however this won’t stop the festivities, the UK will be toasting with a Snowball again in no time”.
