The first installment of these training sessions will take place in Edinburgh on September 18 followed by activations in Copenhagen and Luxembourg in October and Amsterdam and Paris in November.
"Our dream is to spread the word out about such noble and versatile category as it is Chilean pisco and how it can be served in different occasions,” said Marcial Morales, commercial manager, Pisco Waqar.
“During these workshops we will take bartenders back to the 16th century to have a deep-dive into the history of pisco in Chile, its production process and how our distillery carefully produces the multi award-winning Waqar Pisco.
Each session will contain the history of Pisco and how it is produced at Waqar’s centenary distillery as well as a pisco mixology workshop lead by the 2017 winner of its European competition and Slavomir Kytka, bar manager at *ISM Oslo.
“Considering that we will host these workshops in five different countries, a big challenge is to have accessibility to the ingredients that we believe pisco works best with,” added Morales.
“In order to have a domestic touch we promote two or three Waqar signatures we developed with Slavomir plus some local signatures that we will co-develop with the host venue.
“We are convinced that through this workshop programme we will bring valuable knowledge to the community. Moreover, our plan in 2019 is to extend this programme across all our markets globally."
