Piper Heidsieck appoints 30 year old cellar master

Piper-Heidsieck has the appointed 30-year-old Émilien Boutillat as the new cellar master of Piper-Heidsieck Champagne.

Boutillat is a qualified oenologist and agricultural engineer and has previously worked as cellar master for Champagnes Cattier and Armand de Brignac from 2014 to 2018.

Benoit Collard, executive vice-president at Piper-Heidsieck said: “A fervent admirer of Régis Camus’ oenological approach, and in line with a prestigious series of cellar masters, he will be the guardian of the Piper-Heidsieck style and expertise.

“With the appointment of its new cellar master, Piper-Heidsieck reiterates both its vision of an authentic Champagne, and its intention of preserving the elegance and generosity of its impeccable style, the foundation of the house since 1785.”
