DrinkUp.London, founder of London Cocktail Week, is led by founders Hannah Sharman-Cox and Siobhan Payne and the International Women’s Day tour will see them collaborate with six female bartenders from London.
The tour will be themed around famous women and what International Women’s Day means to the six participating bartenders.
“In the hospitality and drinks industry women play a big part behind the scenes on the business side of things,” said Sharman-Cox. “However, there’s still a lot of gender imbalance behind the bar which is why this International Women’s day we’re championing some of the best female bartenders in the capital and inviting cocktail fans to enjoy the one-off cocktail creations to celebrate this important day.”
Payne added: “Being in a female-only team and at the forefront of what we do in the drinks industry, we feel the drive of female empowerment on a daily basis, but we appreciate not all women are in the same fortunate position and days like International Women’s Day inspire us to maintain our passion for positive change in this industry.”
