The London dry gin has been made using regional botanicals which Bombay says has been inspired by the English countryside and includes three new botanicals: Pennyroyal mint, rosehip and toasted hazelnut.
The Bacardi-owned gin has been created by master distiller Dr Anne Brock and master of botanicals Ivano Tonutti and it is said to have “bright citrus notes invigorated with mint, which create a vibrant gin for the ultimate summer refreshment”.
“It’s been fantastic to work with Ivano on this project and to get inside of how his mind works,” said Dr Brock.
“We aren’t trying to reinvent the wheel with these gins. We’re still using Bombay Sapphire as the base gin and then adding the new botanicals from there.”
Having joined Bombay less than two years ago, this is the first new gin developed and launched under the influence of Dr Brock.
“It’s fantastic to start leaving my mark on products and these gins are exciting. Grab one why you can because once they’re gone, they’re gone.”
The Bombay Sapphire distillery in Laverstoke, Hampshire produces all of the gin for its international markets on site and the brand featured in this year’s Drinks International Annual Brands Report for the bestselling and top-trending gin brands in the world’s best bars.
Tonutti, added: “Some of the best ingredients are found right on our doorstep gathered from the great English countryside.
“These new botanical additions within Bombay Sapphire English Estate have been carefully chosen to complement the existing formula of Bombay Sapphire resulting in a unique flavour profile, so gin lovers can enjoy a taste of English summertime.”
English Estate will be available for a limited time only in the UK, Western Europe, Australia and Global travel retail outlets from April 2019 at RRP £23.
