BNIA brings Armagnac Academy to London

27 September, 2019

The Bureau National Interprofessionnel de l’Armagnac is set to host an Armagnac Academy on Tuesday 8 October at Smith & Wollensky, London.

The one day educational event will be presented by Hannah Lanfear, UK armagnac and WSET educator alongside Amanda Garnham from the BNIA.

The full immersion into the world of armagnac will include its history, facts and figures, production, distillation and ageing as well as a tasting of around 30-40 different styles and ages from at least 13 different producers.

The day will culminate in a 100 multiple-choice question exam and the candidate with the highest score will win a trip to Armagnac as a guest of the BNIA to experience distillation first hand.

Since the beginning of the Armagnac Academies educational programme several events have been held in Beijing, Guangzhou, New York, San Francisco and London.

The Academies were started in 2013 and are mainly aimed at trade professionals, attracting importers, distributors, merchants, bartenders, sommeliers and journalists.
