Korean soju brand Jinro has launched the first of three activations in Europe planned for 2023 after breaking 100m 9-litre cases.

Welcome to The Millionaires' Club 2014.

The Millionaires’ Club is Drinks International’s ranking of the biggest selling brands in the global spirits industry.

For qualification brands must achieve global sales volumes of 1 million 9-litre cases or more.

This year the list comprises 179 spirits and liqueurs from all corners of the world, with notable brands entering and dropping out of the 2014 list.

Alongside the Full Listing, this year's supplement includes the Market Overview and a breakdown of brands by spirits category. 

There are sections on the Fastest Growing spirits and the Major Players that operate million-case brands.

There’s something quite transfixing – almost hypnotic – when it comes to looking at the latest brand figures for spirits around the world. You cannot stop. More particularly so as there seems to be so much cause for celebration in the 2011 round-up. There’s Johnnie Walker scotch whisky on an incredible 18 million cases; the Irish whiskey Jameson’s posting a 20%-plus increase and now nudging the 4 million case-mark, well I could go on, and on. But one result has really warmed the cockles of my heart – and that’s William Grant’s single malt scotch whisky Glenfiddich.

The Diego Zamora group has reported that its Licor 43 brand finished 2011 with sales of 500 000 cases worldwide, 4.2 million liters, which represents an increase of more than 25% over 2010.

Jameson has reached three million nine litre case sales (MAT ending October 31). According to the brand, growth in the US, Jameson’s largest export market, contributed to its milestone success, with one million cases sold.

Licor 43 targets UK growth

Spanish liqueur brand Licor 43 is targeting UK growth, after up-scaling its marketing operations with the appointment of a brand ambassador.

India: United Spirits has crossed the milestone of 100 million cases for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2010.
