Heriot-Watt University has named the co-chairs of a fundraising committee to assist the university in raising £35m to build a Centre for Sustainable Brewing and Distilling (CSBD).

Kentucky bourbon Maker’s Mark has appointed Dr Blake Layfield as the brand’s next master distiller, and Beth Buckner as lead blender.

Silent Pool distillery manager Tom Hutchings was handed the Rising Star award at the International Spirits Challenge 2020 after impressing an esteemed panel of voters.
