Diageo’s Johnnie Walker is once again the bestselling whisky from Scotland with 23% of the poll naming it the house pour.

Taken from our 2025 Cocktail Report, this latest edition of our bestselling classics list is the result of a poll of award-nominated or award-winning bars from around the world.

There’s no change in the top three, but the lower echelons see some shifts and a new entry.

Scotch doesn’t feature too o­ften on cocktail lists but that’s no reason for cocktail bars to not find a use for it. Its most ardent fans would consider mixing the stuff sacrilege, but there are a number of classics that call for it.

Liqueurs do a lot of the heavy lifting on a cocktail menu, so naturally, the bestselling list boasts a huge variety of styles.

Suntory has ended Nikka’s six-year reign as the most popular world whisky in the Brands Report.

The usual crowd have populated this year’s bestselling rum list. In fact, nine of the 10 brands remain a constant, with the first seven in the ranking identical to the previous year.
