Brown-Forman has reported a net sales increase of 8% to $4.2bn for the fiscal year ended April 30, 2023, with a fourth quarter performance of +5% to $1bn.

Diageo reported that first-half net sales increased 15.8% to £8 billion as the on-trade rebounded and off-trade demand remained strong.

Heineken has announced plans to cut 8,000 jobs as part of an organisational restructuring effort designed to save €2 billion by 2023.

Heineken has reported a 52.5% decline in first-half earnings after the Covid-19 pandemic took a toll on its on-trade business.

Diageo has appointed Ivan Menezes to the newly created role of chief operating officer. Menezes is currently president Diageo North America and chairman of Diageo Asia Pacific and Diageo Latin America & Caribbean.  He will take up the role on March 1, 2012.

Diageo has delivered 3% volume growth and 7% organic net sales increase for the six months ended December 31, 2011.

Shaker rattles and rolls out

Shaker BarSchools, the international bartender training company, has moved into bar operating with the opening of a bar in London.

Constellation Brands has named Jay Wright, currently president of its North American division, as its new chief operating officer (COO), effective immediately. In his new role, Wright will oversee marketing, sales and operations across the company. This is the first time Constellation Brands has appointed such a role and a statement from the company said “the creation of the COO role is the latest step in the company's evolution to further refine and streamline its organisation”.

Bill Samuels Jr is to step down as president of Maker’s Mark bourbon.
