The UK government’s freeze on alcohol duty is to be extended until August 2023 to help UK hospitality venues amid rising costs.

The UK government has announced a second consecutive duty freeze on spirits, wine, beer and cider.

The Wine and Spirit Trade Association has warned consumers to expect an increase in wine prices as businesses take an inflationary hit following the Budget announcement.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer has announced in the Budget today (March 16) that the UK duty on spirits, beer and cider duty will be frozen but wine duty will rise with inflation.
