Diageo signs Flowers for Arthur's Day

28 July, 2010

Diageo has signed up rock band Killers frontman Brandon Flowers to help celebrate Guinness’s Arthur’s Day.

Flowers is to join Snow Patrol, KT Tunstall and Paolo Nutini among others, for the September 23 celebrations.

Arthur’s Day was created in 2009 to mark the 250th anniversary of the day Arthur Guinness signed the lease on the St. James’s Gate brewery.

The 2010 celebrations will see live music events in Ireland, the USA, the Caribbean and Asia.

Musician KT Tunstall, said: "Looking forward to being a part of this years' Arthur Guinness celebrations, and will very willingly raise a glass of the black stuff to the man himself."

Brian Duffy, global brand director for Guinness, said: “Arthur’s Day is once again going to be a global ‘celebration with substance’ that will see performances from some fantastic acts and musicians across the globe. These world renowned performers will transform venues of all sizes into truly global celebrations where consumers will unite and raise a Guinness “To Arthur” and to the next 250 years.”
