Remy launches Louis XIII jeroboam

17 June, 2011

Remy Martin has launched its Louis XIII cognac in a jeroboam decanter. The new format has a £16,000 price tag and there are 100 jeroboams available.

The company unveiled 'Le Jeroboam' at a dinner in Paris. Guests included buyers, journalists and brand ambassadors from around the world.

Louis XIII is already available in a 70cl decanter and a 1.5 litre magnum. The packaging for these formats was made by Baccarat whereas the jeroboam version is made by Cristallerie de Sèvres. Each jeroboam is made from 5kg of crystal and the neck is dressed in 24 carat gold.

Earlier this year, Rémy Martin announced the sale of a 1930s crystal carafe containing Louis XIII cognac. The Louis XIII Grande Champagne Très Vieille Age Inconnu included eaux-de-vie dating back to the mid-19th century. The company estimated its value at €50,000.

As the name suggests, we’ve used hazel wood as the hero of this edition alongside other familiar, native broadleaf trees, including silver birch and oak from our own forest.
