Award for Maximilian Riedel

19 October, 2012

Maximilian Riedel, the 11th-generation CEO of Riedel Crystal, has won the 125th anniversary Pratt Legend Award, from the Pratt Institute.

The award follows a collaboration between Riedel subsidiary Nachtmann and Pratt where Riedel selected winning designs by two Pratt students, culminating in Nachtmann’s production of two new collections, Petal and Quartz.

The Legends Awards were conceived in 1999 by Pratt’s board of trustees to celebrate distinguished individuals and corporations in the world of art and design. Riedel follows past Pratt Legend Award recipients including American architect Richard Meier, renowned American glass sculptor Dale Chihuly and fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger.
