Accolade wines unveils alcohol-free Echo Falls

09 January, 2015

Accolade wines has teamed up with Two Dogs founder Dave Pahl to unveil a non-alcohol Tisane-infused sparkling drink.

Echo Falls Tisane is a combination of fermented wine grape juice and tea infusion that is intended to bring tannins and structure to the drink. The fermentation process does not include yeast, so alcohol does not develop.

Dave Pahl said: “Tisane fills a genuine consumer demand delivering an authentic taste experience without any alcohol.”

Tisane has been in development for a number of years and the recipe has been formulated over three.

Amy White, Echo Falls marketing director, added: “Our research shows 1 in 3 shoppers claiming to spend £10-£15 per month on non-alcoholic alternatives and so this is becoming an increasingly valuable area of the market.

“Coupled with increasing demand for lower sugar and low calorie drinks – the sparkling infusion has just 26 calories per 100ml – we see a real opportunity to drive this burgeoning category.”

Echo Falls Tisane is available in Tesco now at £3.49 for 75cl.

Ben Branson: Why non-alcoholic pricing is right

The pricing structure of non-alcoholic spirits has a high level of elasticity - there’s already a broad spectrum of price points which consumers are trying to navigate.
